FACTS
AND CIRCUMSTANCES IN THE JULIAN MATTERS
On November 11-12, 2005, Theodore
Pinnock went to Julian. He
found the Julian businesses to be inaccessible.
In fact, Pinnock researched each business and wrote each letter himself.
Since sending the
Notice Letters, Attorneys Pinnock & Wakefield have received numerous
responses from Julian business owners. Attorney
Pinnock has corresponded with in writing and has met several times with Julian
business owners, Julian community leaders and members of the media to discuss
the business owners and property owner’s lack of compliance with federal and
state disability laws. Through
these efforts, Attorney Pinnock has primarily dispelled the prevailing and
erroneous belief among the Julian business and property owners that the ADA and
California disability laws did not apply to the Town of Julian. Further, Attorney Pinnock continues, despite the anger
directed at him and Attorneys Pinnock & Wakefield, to achieve unprecedented
compliance with the ADA and California disability laws in Julian.
In short, Attorneys Pinnock & Wakefield are working most diligently
to solve the existing architectural barriers that exist in Julian.
